Cable Certification Explained: What the Tester Is Telling You

A continuity check only tells you that a wire reaches the other end. A certification test tells you whether the cable actually performs to its standard.

The tester reports parameters such as attenuation (signal lost along the run) and crosstalk (interference between pairs), and compares each against pass/fail limits.

Certified installs come with test results you can keep on file, which means fewer surprises and less downtime after the job is done.
